Growing up Queer (2014)

An Australian pilot study that investigated the experiences of young people who identified as gender variant and sexuality diverse across a range of issues such as identity, health and well being, education, technology and access to services. The research involved a national survey completed by over 1000 young people between the ages of 16-27 as well as a focus group and interactive workshops involving approximately 20 others. This study supports many of the findings from Writing themselves in 3- a large Australian study into the health and wellbeing of young lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people. It also offers further insights into the role that online technologies play in both supporting and hindering the health and wellbeing of gender variant and sexuality diverse young people. (2014)
